Evans Brandon Family Lawyers – Finalist in 2025 QLS Excellence in Law Awards

Each of the partners, legal and admin team members play a vital role in providing pro bono services to victims of homicide and critical incidents in Queensland, the St John’s Crisis Centre charity in Surfers Paradise and to Anglican schools.

It’s difficult to describe the humility and humanity with which those who work in Homicide Victims’ Support and Crisis Care go about their tasks and it is an immensely eye opening and humbling way to see human kindness and sacrifice at work, so when the firm can offer some legal skill we set aside times, often early mornings, evenings or weekends to get the job done.

We are proud to have been recognised with a nomination in the Qld Law Society’s Excellence in Law Awards for this kind of work which comes without fees or reward and is attended to in addition to everyday case loads.

It’s a team effort and there is often a quiet chat about how a particular matter is coming along and indeed how the people in need of targeted legal assistance are coping with quite horrific unexpected life events thrown their way.

Here is a link setting out the nominees for the award – well done to all who are making pro bono commitments and putting their legal skills up as a resource to aid those in need.
